Playing WAL-TOWN - The Film (clip 1) | CITIZENShift

Playing WAL-TOWN - The Film (clip 1) | CITIZENShift: As one of the stops on their cross Canada journey, the Wal-Town crew visit Stratford Ontario, a town where there is currently no Wal-Mart. The traveling activists point out the glaring differences between towns that have a Wal-Mart and those that are Wal-Mart free. They meet with local shopkeepers and discuss Wal-Mart’s practice of selling below cost. This policy creates ‘the doughnut effect’ where the centre of town is effectively emptied out as local stores are forced out of business.
